Choosing the perfect blinds for your home or your commercial property requires a lot of thought: what colours you prefer, what colours will look best with your interior, what style works best for you, and why certain styles might not suit your property. You have your more well-known types of blinds, such as Venetians, verticals and Romans, but what about honeycomb blinds? What are they, and why do you need them for your home?
Also known as duette blinds, honeycomb blinds are named after the unique shape they take. They are made from at least two layers of non-woven polyester joined at the pleats, forming a cellular shape that resembles a honeycomb structure. But the benefits of this shape go far beyond just looking nice, as we’re about to explain.

Versatility – Honeycomb blinds can close from the top down and the bottom up, meaning you can part-close your blind to allow light in whilst maintaining the degree of privacy that you require. This versatility extends to the positioning of the blinds, too; they utilise a rail that stops them hanging away from the window, which means they can be installed on skylights, for example.
Energy efficiency – The makeup of honeycomb blinds means that they excel at insulation. The cellular design traps air between the layers of polyester, which means that warm air is prevented from escaping and cold air is prevented from getting in.
Variety of designs – The blinds themselves can be found in many colours, so you won’t struggle to find one that suits your tastes and the interior of your property. What’s more, the design allows for dual colouring – the outward-facing side can be one colour, and the inward side can be another, which allows for a truly unique colour scheme.
Blackout versions – Should you desire it, you can also have blackout versions of your honeycomb blinds, totally shutting out light and providing complete darkness for a room, ideal if you’re trying to catch up on sleep.
As you can see, there are a number of benefits to honeycomb blinds. They’re incredibly versatile, and with the added benefit of their efficiency, they can help you keep your energy bills down, too.
